Microtones is a musical experience for those that resist convention.
Alexei Versino from Stump Valley (Rush Hour, Uzuri, Off Minor)
Hailing from Berlin, Alexei has witnessed a swift rise to prominence in the electronic music scene following several releases on Rush Hour, Uzuri, and Off Minor as one half of the deep, jazzy, genre-bending Stump Valley. Having kicked off the 5 year anniversary Boiler Room Berlin Pool Party in August, and a podcast on Dekmantel, their momentum is unceasing. As an avid music collector, Alexei has packed his suitcase with records that are sure to cause anatomical fluctuations.
From animation inspired progressive hip hop to minimal ambient microhouse, otodojo resists confinement in any particular genre. The name ‘otodojo’ is translated to ‘a sound place for learning’, which is its function: an environment built for experimentation, and free from expectation. otodojo’s newest EP ‘A Piece Removed’ has just been released on SpinSpinNYC.

Friday July 26th
Le Bain presents
Hosted by Zoe Wilder
The Standard, High Line
444 W 13th street
“This debut single conducts a romp through the sheets on a rainy day. The bassline’s sonic foreplay slowly brings the song to a climax as the lowpass filter reveals what’s hiding underneath. Next comes the biting refrain, which mellows out into a blissful, smoke-filled mixdown. Satisfying.”
