Body Language has created quite the buzz, receiving rave reviews from the likes of NPR, The New York Times, The Guardian and more importantly, the dance floor. With an EP just released and full-length disc on the way, Grammar (Om Records / Lavish Habits), the Brooklyn quartet’s distinct sound as been described as “restless pop experiments with a future-shocked blend of soul and R&B.” Or as multi-instrumentalist/producer Grant Wheeler puts it, “Our world still exists in an indie-disco bubble; we’re just pushing the limits of every genre to a point where the bubble’s about to pop.” The other members include singer/glockenspiel player Angelica Bess (her vocals were on Sepalcure’s “Outside the Lines” and featured in the film ‘Black Swan’), drummer Ian Young (who has been live drumming with Matthew Dear) and singer/producer Matt Young (who, with Grant, co-produces/writes for such rising artists as Passion Pit, Machinedrum and Vacationer). Body Language embodies everything that’s beautiful about music right now.
On Wednesday, December 5th, Body Language will be performing a special dj set alongside SpinSpinNYC artists Infernal Devices and Nutritious at the Hotel on Rivington’s alluring venue, Viktor & Spoils, for Fetish Authentic. Doors at 9:30 p.m.
