AUGUST 31 2011 BROOKLYN SHAKEDOWN:: FORQUARTERS COLLECTIVE (ESL, The Gumball, Red Maple)

FORQUARTERS COLLECTIVE (ESL, The Gumball, Red Maple | Baltimore)

As you scan the East Coast of the USA, certain collectives pop off the map like diamonds in the rough. Enter ForQuarters Collective, underground house djs Jason Joseph and Jon Mack. ForQuarters are host to some of Baltimore’s greatest monthly events and, combined with their travel, involve flings with Fred Everything, Rich Medina, Dimitri Max, Wally Callerio, Jeff Craven, Uriah West, Davidson Ospina, N’Dinga Gaba, parties with Farina, Heather, Chuck Love, Jojo Flores, and many, many more. ForQuarters hold down the main room every second Saturday at the world famous Eighteenth Street Lounge (ESL) in Washington D.C., which may sound familiar to you if you’re a fan of Thievery Corporation and their eclectic record label of the same name (they run both). This doesn’t happen by chance, this is the result of being incredibly talented and running mad game on the dancefloor …and that’s just what the ForQuarters do.

AUGUST 24 2011 BROOKLYN SHAKEDOWN: PETE MOSS (Recline Records, Alola, Apt)

PETE MOSS (Recline Records, Alola, Apt)

Pete’s resume reads like a guidebook to being one of the most well-respected figures in tech & deep house. Guess that’s why he is. Pete teaches teachers how to develop deep driving house music and his sets on the dj decks are so proper, you’ll instantly realize why he’s admired by so many people all over the world. Pete’s logged more trips around the globe than he can count; from Ministry of Sound UK, Pacha Ibiza, to NYC Cielo and Centro-Fly, Pete somehow finds time to continue a time honored production legacy with his in-demand dj schedule. Over the years, he’s gilded records for Worship, Ovum, Greenskeepers, Siesta, Nordic Trax, Large, Sound Between Movement, Plastic City, Dutchie, So Sound, and so many other great purveyors of house. It is with profound respect that we present a special evening with Pete Moss at the Brooklyn Shakedown.

AUGUST 17 2011 BROOKLYN SHAKEDOWN :: JOHN DILL (Robot Heart / Found Love)

JOHN DILL (Robot Heart / Found Love)

Not to mention how prolific Robot Heart is on the playa, in the past nine years John Dill has emerged as one of New York’s favorite underground DJs and beloved club personas. During this time John has shared the decks with the likes of Mark Farina, Derrick Carter, Wiseacre, Chris Duckenfield (SWAG), Tom Middleton, Phil Weeks, Scumfrog, Master Kev, Satoshi Tomiie, and the Dirtybird crew (Claude VanStroke, Justin Martin, Christian Martin).

John honed his sound on the white isle of Ibiza in 2000 and ever since, he’s grown residencies at some of New York’s own best parties and travelled the globe to share his unique style. From Found Love, Sunday Sessions, Sullivan Room, Table 50, Movida, and Crobar, to the beaches of Punta Del Este, Puerto Rico, and the infamous Robot Heart parties, John’s solid reputation is built entirely on making asses shake.
